She-Hulk, Vol. 2: Disorderly Conduct by Charles Soule
Star rating: ★★★☆ ☆ 3/5 stars
Format: library graphic novel
Summary: Jennifer takes on a new client, Captain America himself. She must fight in court against Matt Murdock to clear Steve’s name.
Review: God I hate the art in this. The cover art is so pretty and then you open it and it’s this jarring ugly ass art that makes it look like no one has an expression. It’s so stiff. I just hate it so much and it keeps me from enjoying the comic more.
Hank Pym shows his abusive ass in this volume so of course I hated that part. Fuck Hank Pym. He’s the absolute worst and I hate him probably the most out of the marvel universe. Argh. He makes me so angry because of how he treated Janet who is a beautiful perfect sunflower and how dare he treat Janet Van Dyne anything less than a princess?? Fuck him.
The overarching story ended so anticlimactic and boring. The whole mystery of the blue file was solved in two pages and then nothing was really done about it. They’d been hyping it this whole series and it turned out to be such a let down.
We also never find out what the heck is up with Angie and Hei Hei WHO MORPHS INTO A LARGE FLYING MONKEY AND ITS NEVER EXPLAINED. Like, I would like some answers about that?
Overall I think this series was pretty weak. They didn’t try to create character development and just set out some mysteries and was like “peace figure out what to do with this on your own”. I liked reading about Jennifer but I honestly think she’s not given the room to grow that she needs. And she’s a damn Hulk okay. Come on.
Recommendation: The art and story in this is pretty weak. The first volume was much better, the second is just a let down.
