Goldie Vance, Vol. 2 review

Goldie Vance, Vol. 2 by Hope Larson

Star rating: ★★★★ ☆ 4/5 stars

Format: library graphic novel

Summary: Goldie and her best friend Cheryl stumble upon the unconscious body of an astronaut. Goldie sets herself on the case to discover who she is since the woman has amnesia.

Review: This series is seriously adorable. Goldie is so cute, both she and Diane together as a couple just is the best thing. It’s so sweet, Diane is there for her whatever she needs and I love it. She stayed up all night making Goldie a dress so she could go undercover at a beauty pageant.

I liked this plot a lot more than the one in the first volume. It was interesting to see Goldie and Cheryl feuding for most of the story. I liked that there was tension due to Goldie not thinking about Cheryl’s feelings about the space program.

Goldie’s mom makes a bigger impact in this volume and dude she is such a badass. I hope in the future volumes we see Goldie making good on her promise to compete in that mermaid pageant with her mom because that would be seriously the cutest thing.

I was glad Tooley got a romantic interest that isn’t a spy trying to use him, and she’s an FBI agent too! Totally cool and Goldie was super entertaining trying to set them up. I hope that she shows up later on and wasn’t just a one time occurrence because I liked her a lot.

This series is continuing to be awesome and I am loving reading it. I hope it keeps being great and we get more adorable moments from everyone here. I love Nancy Drew as a kid and these have the same sort of feel to them as those books did.

Recommendation: Like teen girl sleuths? Like cute girl characters with adorable girlfriends? This is definitely a series to check out.
